Contemplating on my past visits to art galleries in New York for the past two years, Dia :Beacon is one of my favorite museums. It takes about two or three hours to get there from New York City, taking a train. Dia:Beacon is a huge archive of Contemporary Art; it has a wide variety of sculptures, minimalist paintings, installations, and video art. If you are interested in the aesthetics and works of Dan Flavin, Bruce Nauman, and Donald Judd, definitely check out this place.
There’s also another exhibition coming up starting from October 26 to December 15, on Andy Warhol’s Shadows, which is a monumental painting series. This one is on view at 205 West 39th Street, in Calvin Klein Inc. Andy Warhol’s Shadows will be a part of the long-term installations at Dia:Beacon next year.
