Artist Polly Nor has recently launched a new exhibit in London, titled “Airing My Dirty Laundry in Public”. Like many of her previous works, this exhibit focuses on expressing difficult topics such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues– topics we usually keep to ourselves– through a very honest and exposed way. It also focuses on personal experience– notably what it is like to be a woman in today’s age. In previous illustrations, Nor used the images of “inner demons” to portray these difficult emotions. However, in the London show, she uses ceramic sculptures of bodies hanging like laundry, to once again convey the idea of imperfections being something we all have and hide, but which merit being talked about and exposed.
