“A New Rembrandt”

Following our conversation on artificial intelligence and art, I thought it would be appropriate to include this article in the website. Recently, a computer analyzed 346 Rembrandt paintings and produced a “unique” and “new” painting using the typical Rembrandt characteristics (the subject was a older man, wearing black clothes, etc.). This poses the question: is something still art if it is produced by an independent computer?
