Just a couple of weeks ago, famous Pakistani actress Mahira Khan launched her own online portal called Mashion. This is a curated space on which the best of fashion, travel & food is available. However, what makes it truly unique is that its targeted towards the average south-asian woman.
Its an integration of styles and trends, both in fashion & lifestyle, that are aligned well with the socio-cultural context of countries like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh etc.
For me this is commendable, because today most South-Asian women still follow predominantly western bloggers & influencers, even when they may not relate to their advice, recommendations or even general style. They do so because of lack of more local & relatable options.
And so having a portal like Mashion really helps provide a service that many women (and men) in the eastern world have so long been desiring.
