The Dia Art Foundation announced that it acquired 155 sculptural pieces by Minimalist artist Charlotte Posenske. Her art is unique for being produced through democratic means. She sells them to the art market at the piece’s material cost. Art that replicates her own work is authorized as to be known as the same piece rather than a replica. The only way to distinguish her art from similar pieces is by its certificate. Artists and curators are allowed to participate in the piece’s presentation by moving, rearranging, and adding. Her decision to relinquish ownership of her own art is really noble and makes her work speak quite powerfully.
