My Instagram feed has been absolutely flooded with photos from New York Fashion Week recently, and I’m not mad about it.
In my regular peruse of Vogue’s website, I stumbled across this album of images depicting many of the women credited for having inspired Marc Jacobs’ recent Spring 2019 collection.
I’m feeling particularly moved by a few nostalgic motifs that seem to celebrate the 90’s in particular — holographic jean jackets, feather boas, sheer, almost flimsy fabrics and muted skin-like tones. The juxtaposition of portraits taken on analog film only heighten this theme.
I can’t wait to experiment with and riff off of some of these trends in the next few months.
