The stop-motion animation that we watched on Monday, Bottle by Kirsten Lepore, reminded me of Meat Love, a short stop-motion animation film created by Jan Svankmajer in 1989. Svankmajer’s work also has an anthropomorphic aspect. It shows two pieces of meat dancing and falling in love before they encounter a catastrophic ending. Svankmajer’s Meat Love is surreal, erotic, and grotesque-presenting two raw flesh as lovers.
