Billie Eilish x Apple present ‘Come Out and Play’ in the spirit of the holidays

It astounds me how successful of a year Billie Eilish has had for her age.  At 16, she has become one of the biggest breakout artists of 2018.  She co-wrote her most recent track “Come Out and Play” with her brother and it was featured as the music accompanying an animated short film produced by Apple.  In the film, the animated characters are afraid of showing off their talents to the world as Eilish sings lyrics including, “You’ll never know until you try it/ You don’t have to keep it quiet.”  It’s a beautiful, heartwarming piece that reminds us of the importance of keeping our friends and family close during the holidays –– that is, if you are able to forget that the giant corporation with a monopoly over tech is behind the piece, of which the subliminal message is “buy your loved ones MacBooks for Christmas.”
